With so many new members they can complete many more projects.
 
Windjammer Fest weekend – raised $177 for Shelter Box
Largest event - Week of Kindness – Asked businesses to donate to us and community agreed to acts of Kindness.  During that week they raised $1,300 for service trip to Safe Harbor in Guatemala.
 
Members of the club like to participate in hands on projects in the community
For example, they recently moved stones on Beech Hill and participated in the Walk for Polio
 
Annual Projects
Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital & Ronald McDonald House
Raise money in December to buy books, toys & games for kids in these facilities.
Would like to continue to do these projects moving forward
 
Safe Passage
8 students traveling to Guatemala
3 chaperones’
2,500 donation to Safe Passage
$15,000 for the total trip / $1,880 per person
 
Those that live around the dump work there – they scavenge for things they can sell or keep for themselves.

Started with 46 members of families that lived in the dump
 
They have in-school and after school programs – learn basic skills
Also has adult literacy programs
Programs for women to be independent
Co-op programs where they can sell jewelry or clothes so that they can become independent from their husbands.

$230 – educational packets to 40 children in Costa Rican schools
$300 – Hearing care for 70 individuals in the Philippine Islands
$700 – 10 adult wheelchair tricycles for people in Sri-Lanka
$1000 – 2 dairy cows to farmers in Cambodia
