A Reader and a Writer, Barbara has a BA in Anthropology, A Masters from NYU in Sociology, and an EdD at EU. Studies life along the coast of Maine. 501C3 about a year ago, starting off in Camden but are expanding to schools in all the 5 towns that serve Camden schools. Support teachers on projects in need. Grants go to Library as well and Discovery Bags are available for studying the water! Sent teachers for project development opportunities. Kids are learning about pH of water and ecosystems.

Another project was looking for micro-plastics in the harbor. (And yes, micro-plastics were found in each trawl). Covid has slowed down the work but grants were used to purchase gear for kids to wear during the research projects. Poetry on Windows project is presenting kids poetry. This may become an annual project! Getting ready to ROV! (Remotely Operated Vehicle) to look at the bottom of the harbors! Pulling together a team to explore oysters and shellfish to help filter the harbor. Thinking about a film series and interns in the future. Funding comes from a lot of areas, a small foundation helped in the beginning and several local banks. Funding raising has been set aside during Covid. They do look for partners.
